Bettie L. Brown, 1926-2003, Versailles
Bettie L. Brown, 76, of Versailles, died Friday, Dec. 5, 2003, at Capital
Region Medical Center in Jefferson City.
She was born Dec. 23, 1926, in Florence, a daughter of Oscar and Dorothy
Hodges White.
She was employed at FASCO's in Eldon for 14 years. She belonged to the
Seventh Day Adventist Church in Florence, and loved to read and do crossword
puzzles.
Surviving are a son, Rodney Brown, of Versailles; four brothers, Aaron
White, of Carthage, Jonathan White, of Holden, Philip White, of Springfield,
and James White, of Eugene, Ore.; three sisters, Helen Lothrop, of Choctaw,
Okla., Dorothy Harleman, of Versailles, and Florence Allen, of Wintersett,
Iowa; a granddaughter; and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by two brothers, Almond White and Nathaniel White.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the United Methodist Church
in Florence with Pastor Al Oetman officiating. Burial will be in the Union
Cemetery in Florence.
The family will receive friends from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. Monday at the
Scrivner-Morrow Funeral Home in Versailles.
The family suggests memorial contributions to the Union Cemetery.
